iSCSI OFFERINGS

iSCSI is SCSI over IP. As a standard from the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) it allows an initiator (anything requiring direct storage) to access a target (any storage device such as disk drives, raid systems, CDROM’s, DVD’s, tapes amongst others) via ethernet cabling. Just like ordinary SCSI an initiator driver must be installed on one side and the target driver on the other. Ardis Technologies develops such drivers for iSCSI for various systems with or without operating system and supplies support.

Our iSCSI offerings are:

- ISCSI target driver for Linux. For information: see our download area
- ISCSI initiator driver for Mac OS X. For more information send an email to jan@ardistech.com
- ISCSI initiator driver for Linux. For information: see our download area
- ISCSI initiator target distribution for Linux. For OEM only. For information please send an email to jan@ardistech.com
- ISCSI initiator target driver porting to other systems. For OEM’s only. For information please send an email to jan@ardistech.com
- a new iSCSI based product, the DynamicDrivePool, can be checked out using the Linux target and Mac OS X initiator driver. The DynamicDrivePool is a drive server for professional video and audio providing desktops with virtual drives using iSCSI over TCP/IP, for more product information visit www.DynamicDrivePool.com

IS iSCSI BENEFICIAL?

iSCSI can be beneficial in one of these situations:

- the storage area network (SAN) needs expanding but fibrechannel is over the top
- the available NAS systems need more storage
- the combination of SAN and NAS is becoming difficult to manage
- SCSI creates problems and USB/IEEE1394/firewire drives are not professional enough however your application requires directly attached storage (DAS)
